BOYS GOLF

There will be a brief meeting this Wednesday, March 21 @ 3:00 in Mr. Maney's room for anyone interested in playing golf this spring.

How can I try out for the team?

Here are a few important pieces of information that you must be aware of if you are considering trying out for golf this season:

1. *Tryouts begin March 26th and March 27^th. Players are expected to bring clubs and be dressed appropriately with khakis and collared shirts. The bus will leave for Mee-Kwon at 2:50. You can store your clubs in the ticket booth at the school auditorium. Please see Mr. Parsons about this. 

There are two 9 hole qualifying rounds.  Cuts will be made the first day if they are needed.  The teams will be decided based on score. There are approximately 7 spots available on Varsity and 7-10 on JV. Scores, potential, and playing tournaments in the off season will be factors in deciding how many players will be kept. There will be no freshman cuts if we have enough for a freshmen team.

2. *We will be having practice every day over spring break. Practice starts at 10:00 a.m.@ Missing Links or Fire Ridge for the Varsity and 9:00 a.m. for the Junior Varsity. The practice days are April 9^th, April 10^th, April 11^th, April 12^th and April 13th. We will not have practice April 5 and April 6 (Good Friday).  You can practice on your own these days. I will have tee times or range times available.

3. Practice starts Monday March 28^th at Fire Ridge or Missing Links @ 3:15 for all members who made the JV and Varsity.

4. March 26^th -May 31^st- If you make a team you are responsible for practicing everyday that the team does. If you are absent from school for more than 3 hours, and it is not an excused absence, you cannot practice or play. If you do not practice the day before a meet, you cannot play. Plan to practice for at least 3 hours after school.

Other Important Dates:

We will have captains practice at Missing Links every Sunday at 1:00 P.M. starting March 3rd, March 10th, March 17th, and March 24th before the season starts. Anyone interested in trying out for the team are encouraged to attend.
