Summer Opportunities

PRE-COLLEGE SUMMER PROGRAMS

Tech Knowledge Center at MPTC  TKC is a 3 day activity that is held at MPTC’s Fond du Lac campus every summer for students going into 6th, 7th and 8th grade.  This exciting opportunity allows students to explore careers, experience hands-on learning and have a whole lot of fun!  There is a variety of sessions to choose from and many new ones that were added this year.

UW - Milwaukee College for Kids

CSI Day Camp at Marian University (Fond du Lac) - The camp registration fee is $150, which includes meals and snacks throughout the camp, as well as a camp t-shirt. The camp will feature sessions taught by faculty and area professionals, and will include hands-on learning opportunities. All participants who attend the camp, then apply and are admitted to Marian University will receive an annual $1,000 scholarship. This camp is limited to the first 60 students who register and runs 9:00 a.m. – 4:30, Monday and Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. – noon on Wednesday.

University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Youth Career Exploration Programs:  Police Academy, experience radio/TV, explore CSI, world languages/careers and discover firefighting

UW -Whitewater Camps and UWW Theatre Camp - 7 day camp to provide campers with an opportunity to improve their theatre skills alongside others with similar interests.

College Advantage Camp at Marquette - Interactive college readiness camp for students who want help to navigate the college search and application process, build a strong application, understand how to pay for college, build leadership skills, and learn about the college experience.

OTHER SUMMER PROGRAMS

University School of Milwaukee - For students entering grades 4-12, Summer I.D.E.A.S. workshops are designed to inspire and engage.

WCATY  - Wisconsin Cener for Academically Talented Youth - Accelerated learning program for gifted high school students who want to explore interdisciplinary knowledge in an intimate college learning environment at UW Madison.

YWCA Everytown Wisconsin camp - A week-long residential camp focused on helping teen girls understand the “isms” (i.e. racism, sexism, adultism, internalized sexism) and how each form of these oppressions impacts participation in our democracy.

The Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy This program is open to all Wisconsin students between their Junior and Senior years of High School and will provide first-hand experiences and insight into the operations of law enforcement agencies.  It will also afford highly motivated young people an opportunity to consider law enforcement as a potential career choice.  .

HOBY Advanced Leadership Academy - College-prep and leadership training that empowers them to be active leaders for positive social change.

Wisconsin Lions Camp is looking for campers and staff to join  for the summer.  This is a free camp experience for youth who are deaf/hard of hearing, are blind/visually impaired, are intellectually disabled, have educational autism, have diabetes.  Staff applications are available.
