What are "Math Hawks"?

Math Hawks are a group of students who enjoy mathematics and choose to compete against other schools on math tests. The team goes to another school, and all participating teams test on both a JV and Varsity level. Awards are determined by cumulative team scores.

Who can be a Math Hawk?

Any student in geometry or higher math class and has a 3.0 GPA in math qualifies to be a math hawk. Talk to any math teacher about joining. But remember, there are only 8 Varsity and 8 JV spots on the team, so spaces may fill up fast.

What else?

The conference competition is the first Monday in February. Here awards are earned for the top placing school in the conference, and the first ten induviduals also recieve awards. This is a group that doesn't require much time committment, and the math hawks can get a page in the year book!
